We stationed the ash/trash can outside of our elevator at the garage of our condominium development, lending a bit of sophistication to an other-wise utilitarian space. I deflected notions of leaving an empty tin coffe can filled with sand in which to distinguish butts--and even worse--coupling it with a 13 gallon kithen garbage can--"w/ NEW Flip Lid!" I fought hard for this item. I proudly displayed it to the residents and hung a rather smart "Thank You for Not Smoking" sign above it. Within a week it had been swiped.Guess they liked it, too.
